President – Matt Gibson

Matt Gibson is CEO of Xpat.Media, the adventure blogger behind Xpat Matt, and a longtime travel writer and photographer who has worked with many well-known travel publishers, such as En Voyage and AFAR. Matt also frequently speaks on the topics of blogging and social media in travel marketing and has appeared at conferences such as Arabian Travel Market, Digital Innovation Asia, and ITB Asia.

Although Matt still contributes writing and photography brands such as Trivago, Hipmunk, and, and occasionally appears in content marketing campaigns (most recently with Keen shoes and Tourism Calgary), he spends most of his days providing content marketing consulting and training and services to travel companies through Xpat.Media.

President Elect  – Amanda Ponzio Mouttaki

Amanda Ponzio Mouttaki is the publisher of and owner of the culinary tourism company Marrakech Food Tours. She has an BA in International Relations and an MBA in Project Management. Amanda currently lives in Marrakech, Morocco with her husband and two children.  She aims to inspire people to travel through food exploration and not be afraid of new experiences. Along with writing her website and running her company, she also is a freelance writer and speaker.

Outgoing President – Laurence Norah

Laurence Norah is a full time professional travel photographer & blogger, who has been travelling the world since 2009, and taking as many pictures of beautiful places as possible. With his wife Jessica Norah he runs two travel blogs: the photography and adventure focused Finding the Universe, and the couples travel focused Independent Travel Cats. He’s also the author of the Superstar Blogging Online Photography Course, which will help you improve your photography, no matter your level or experience. Laurence joined the PTBA as a founding member and served a year on the board before running for President. He can found on Twitter as @Lozula.

Secretary – Paul Farrugia

Treasurer – Mindi Hirsch

Mindi writes about food and travel on her blog 2foodtrippers. She is currently traveling on a full-time basis with her husband, sharing photos and stories one meal at a time. Prior to becoming a food and travel influencer, Mindi earned an MBA degree and worked in the Risk Management field.

Europe Board Member – Michael Turtle

After working in broadcast journalism for a decade in Australia, Michael left Sydney to travel the world indefinitely and write about the places, people, and experiences he discovers. You can read about his adventures at Time Travel Turtle.

Europe Board Member- Margherita Ragg

Margherita  is a freelance writer and journalist from Milan, Italy. She is passionate about wildlife, ecotourism, and outdoor adventure activities. She runs the popular nature and adventure travel blog The Crowded Planet. She has an MA (First Class) in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University, and was runner-up to the 2012 Guardian Travel Writer of the Year competition. Her other passions (in no particular order) are rock climbing, skiing, homebrewing and her cat, Tappo.

North America Board Member – Brad Bernard

Stephanie Yoder is a girl who can’t sit still! Since graduating college in 2007 she has either been traveling or planning to travel. She’s lived on four continents and visited everywhere from the Great Wall of China to the Great Barrier Reef. She now writes and travels full time, blogging about her adventures on Twenty-Something Travel and frequently freelancing for other sites like RoamRight and Trivago. Stephanie now lives in Seattle with her husband Mike and adorable dog Leo.

Rest of the World Board Member – Ian Ord

Having spent more than half his life on the road, Ian has developed an insatiable thirst for travel. His love for the road less traveled is only surpassed by his passion the planet, its people, and the place tourism will responsibly fit within that realm. Travel blogger for Where Sidewalks End, board member of the Responsible Travel & Tourism Collective (#RTTC), Chapter Leader for Travel Massive Chiang Mai, advisor to the Travel Bloggers for Change charity, and Founder of the boutique positive impact travel company: WSE Travel, Ian plays a very active role in helping bring global awareness, education, and experience to those looking to travel sustainably and responsibly. Ian is also a robot costume enthusiast and can be found on twitter @globe_trottah.

Rest of the World Board Member – Raphael Alexander Zoren

Raphael Alexander Zoren is a Nomadic Digital Marketer and Travel Influencer who overcame the chains of the local economy and found a way to achieve his dream of having a professional life while traveling the world nonstop. He created Journey Wonders as platform to share his captivating stories and photographs to the entire world.

His goal in life is to inspire the people of the world to unleash their full inner potential. A perfect day for him includes exotic animals, ancient pyramids, breathtaking waterfalls and tasty tacos. Lots of tacos. You can tweet him @journeywonders.

Erin’s an experienced travel blogger and gifted communicator. She travels the world looking for adventure and shares those exciting stories and helpful tips on her blog, reaching tens of thousands of avid readers each month on Travel with Bender. Her passion and expertise in social media, coupled with a Marketing and Public Relations degree, positioned her perfectly as a teacher, mentor, and social media strategist. Erin’s love of blogging has rocketed her into the spotlight with features on primetime TV, national newspapers and more. With her husband and 2 young children, she’s been on a nomadic journey since 2012 across 60+ countries so far.

Rest of the World Board Member – Amanda Williams

Amanda is a small-town Ohio girl trying to balance a “normal” life with a desire to discover the world beyond her Midwest bubble. Through her blog, A Dangerous Business, she hopes to prove to people that traveling (and especially traveling as a woman) doesn’t have to be scary, lonely, or out of anybody’s reach. Amanda has degrees in journalism and tourism management and has been writing for the web as a travel blogger and freelancer since 2010. You can follow her adventures on Instagram @dangerousbiz.

At Large Board Member – Kate McCulley

In September 2010, at the age of 26, Kate quit her job to travel Southeast Asia for six months. Six months turned into 4.5 years across more than 60 countries, and she’s only now slowing down in 2016. Kate blogs about her travels at Adventurous Kate, and can be found on Snapchat at adventurouskate.

At Large Board Member – Amber Hoffman

After 10 years as a corporate tax attorney, Amber left her job at the largest law firm in the world, to start living her life with more purpose.  She is now a recovering tax lawyer, travel writer, social media consultant, speaker, and professional eater.  And, she travels With Husband In Tow as together they seek new Adventures in Food, Wine & Luxury Travel.

Splitting her time between Asia and Europe, Amber also launched a social media consulting business through WHIT Media. WHIT Media provides customized social media training programs and offers monthly consulting services to help grow an engaged audience, primarily to customers in the hospitality industry.


Assistant – Trish McNeill

Trish McNeill grew up in Prince Edward Island, the smallest Canadian province. Her first trip took her all the way across the world to Australia and started her love for travel. Working as a freelance writer and social media manager has allowed Trish to continue her travels at her own pace. Being a small town girl at heart, Trish, when not traveling, can be found at home on her little island teaching fitness classes, cuddling with her dog, and planning her next adventure.


Projects Manager – Caroline Eubanks

Caroline Eubanks is a freelance writer and travel blogger from Atlanta, Georgia. She’s been published by National Geographic Traveler, AFAR and BBC Travel. She started traveling more long term in 2010 after graduating from university before volunteering in Thailand, sailing in Croatia and bartending in Australia. She runs the blogs Caroline in the City and This Is My South. In addition, she is the past secretary for the PTBA, chapter leader for Travel Massive’s Atlanta chapter, and a member of the Society of American Travel Writers.
